Randomly Select Participants
This step will create a random set of participants in order to ensure that the audit isn’t biased - intentionally or unintentionally - and is representative of the team.

+ Why
Look, ideally no one would try to stack the participant list with team members in order to cover up any potential issues, but let’s be real, personal motives come into play in the professional realm. This may not even be a conscious choice. If you are asked to provide a participant for an audit, you might think to yourself “I’ll send Jen, she’s an All Star and can help” and if everyone does that suddenly the population sample is of the All Star team - not the actual team. Adversely, maybe someone doesn’t like the current best practice so intentionally sends a weak link. Okay, so take out the team leads selecting and ask for volunteers? The personality type of someone who volunteers is different than ones who don’t, so again you have a population sample that is of a certain type of team member. At the end of the day, the easiest way to remove these confounding factors is to randomize who is in it.
